The gig.
The Email Marketing Specialist plays an important role by performing a variety of activities related to marketing communications. The role is responsible for, under general direction, the company's marketing automation platform (Pardot) on behalf of the Marketing team, and other internal clients. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining workflows for automated email campaigns, and for performance metrics to aid in the enhancement of programs, with a focus on segmentation and conversion.
Key Responsibilities.
  • Execution and deployment of daily email marketing campaigns
  • Build campaign workflows for drip campaigns, including targeting and timing logic, if/then scenarios that include more targeted workflows based on responsive behavior and automated tasks
  • Identify and build out target audience and customer segmentation required for campaign execution
  • Identify opportunities to improve and optimize campaign performance through test & learn
  • Working with our Digital Marketing team, consistently work to improve the design and optimization of email templates and content to be both user and mobile-friendly
  • Analyze and report on program performance and provide recommendations based on results
  • Enhancing the organization of marketing assets within Pardot; this includes maintaining the existing naming convention and folder structure, as well as regularly archiving assets as needed.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Operations teams, and within Pardot to ensure data is clean and required fields are complete and support Marketing initiatives
  • Responsible for correcting any data issues within the system and keeping the application up to date
  • Drive end-user adoption of Pardot through documentation, support and training of new and current employees.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for day to day user requests
  • Troubleshoot any reported errors, ensuring that campaigns fire as designed, opt-outs are processed successfully, and correct variable fields are being used for personalization.
  • Create landing pages to support all lead generation activities, as needed.
  • Monitor and recommend updates to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of lead scoring and grading
  • Create user persona lists and segmentation rules to support compelling content strategies and customer journeys
  • Identify process improvements in the marketing automation function and work with all appropriate individuals to implement those improvements
  • Manage all Pardot developments, integrations and special projects as required
  • Identify, communicate and make recommendations based on trends in email & digital marketing.
Desired Skills, Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree, along with 3+ years of strong Pardot administration experience for a large company required. Experience with other enterprise-level marketing automation (Marketo, Eloqua, Hubspot) will be considered.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration, specifically with Marketing, Design, Digital and Operations teams.
  • Expert knowledge of CASL, GDPR and CAN-SPAM and opt- in and opt-out practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated success in effectively driving results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Passionate about delivering excellence in customer service within a team environment.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
