Work (crane operation and driving) location:- Majority of work will be in British Columbia.
- Western United States (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Utah)
Hours: 45 hours per week, per federal law. Overtime paid after 60 hours.
Wage: $38.89 /hour
- Annual salary increase per CPI
- Performance-based bonus available for safety possible after probation and then reviewed every three months. Calculated on mileage for no complaints, incidents, or violations.

Duties:
- Organize and oversee on-road operations. Provide back up when requested by superiors to justify costs of routing.
- Carry out company safety protocol and ensure policy and procedure manual is abided by. Ensure and oversee compliance related matters.
- Ensure maintenance appointments are met and adhered to the intended schedule set out by the director of maintenance. Approve purchases and provide purchase order numbers for minor on road repairs.
- Review performance, deliveries, and projects within specified regions.
- Carry out pre-hire procedures and take part in recruitment and initial training of new employees
- Coordinate deliveries requested by customer's in your region and ensure on-time, safe and efficient manner. Work with your administrator to complete border crossing paperwork.
- Review paperwork, proof of deliveries, and upload to load docks for billing and payroll
- Develop traffic and carry out delivery plans based on hours of service and jurisdictional permit requirements. Advise superiors of compliance-related issues.
- Able to execute duties in varying terrain, in rural and urban areas, including logging sites, docks, industrial plants, mines, construction sites, railway yards
- Operate climbing crane, overhead crane, hydraulic or telescoping boom to load/unload logs and other materials
- Perform minor maintenance, clean and lubricate cranes, as well as minor repairs before, during, and after operation, as needed.
- The operator must complete a daily inspection of their unit and keep record copies of the paperwork
- The operator is required to report maintenance issues found on his inspection prior to crane usage
- The operator must be sure to operate the crane with safe work practices of the SOP Handbook
- The operator must confirm to all Book 7, local traffic laws, applicable permits and National Safety Code during deliveries and travel
- The operator must wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times while outside the cab
- The operator must communicate with their regional office before 9 am every day and communicate as required by phone or other devices, such as computers.
- If the operator feels unsafe at any time; he or she must contact their foreman.

- must complete probationary period without accident or incident in a tandem unit
- operate long-combination and straight body trucks that are more than 4500 kg and can transport logs and other materials over long distances
- operate truck over long and short distances
- plan trip logistics and comply with transportation documents and permits required in each jurisdiction in which executing duties
- safely secure and move logs and other cargo
- Prepare bills of lading and maintain travel logs for cargo, service hours, distance and fuel
QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
- Secondary school completion
- Safety Certificates in Variety of Subjects (H2S, First Aid, ERailsafe, Hours of Service, Human Factors, Oversize Loads, Off-Highway/Reduced Visibility, Wired Environment, D&A Awareness Course, Mountain Driving
- Operational knowledge of equipment
Experience:
- Minimum 3 Year Operations experience with preference given to those who have this experience in the same field of work.
- Crane/Hiab/Loader Operational experience
- At least two years of truck driver experience
Licenses
- Class 1 or Equivalent Canadian Driver’s License and air brake endorsement
Skills & Ability
- Mechanical/Maintenance Scheduling Understanding
- Operational Knowledge of Equipment
- Software (Proficient in Excel, Word, PC Miler, Translogic, Online Courses)
- Must be eligible to travel to and execute duties in Canada and the US. Travel Component is estimated but not limited to 85% annually
