As a Project Manager for our Toronto district office, you will contribute to our team by:
- Developing the Project Execution Plan with the superintendent.
- Leading by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
- Developing and implementing the quality management plan.
- Ensuring the project is constructed as per design, budget, quality, and schedule.
- Handling project performance, schedule, and resources.
- Performing detailed project cost review.
- Preparing and verifying progress payments to clients and subcontractors, and supervising progress.
- Collaborating with the project team, client representative, consultants and trade contractors.
- Negotiating and issuing subcontracts, revisions, and major purchase orders, and supervising their progress and schedule.
- Participating or leading claims/dispute negotiations with owner and trade contractors.
- Leading all change orders, including negotiating, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact.
- Participating in overall project closeout, including document archival, maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiencies, and warranty work.
- Other duties as required
What you will bring to the role:
- Postsecondary education in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of dynamic construction experience with leadership and mentoring preferred.
- Knowledge and application of safety and environment principles, procedures and legislation.
- Ability to identify and handle risk and opportunities on construction projects.
- Ability to handle project budgets and build and schedule a project.
- Knowledge of cost and change management.
- Knowledge of construction law and building codes.
- Ability to build and manage the document control process for a project.
- Understanding of insurance, bonding, and legal requirements.
- Strong planning, interpersonal, and time leadership skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key partners and decision makers.
- Ability to collaborate with and influence designers and engineers on projects.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proven strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
